Lemon Almond Biscotti

Fall:  I. Love. Autumn. I could easily write an autumn manifesto. It’s without a doubt my favorite season–I hear lots of people saying it–but I always feel like they can’t possibly love it as much as I do.  I am after all Ze Ginger Queen and fall is the season of spice, and orange, and everything ginger.  If I were embodied by one season, it would be autumn.  That said, I’m really excited about tomorrow being the beginning of October.  Normally fall starts mid-September but it’s been so warm in this bit of the North, that it hasn’t really felt like fall.  However, a quick look over this weeks forecast seems to indicate that it may be safe to pull out my sweaters, and tights, and maybe even my boots.  Jazzed.

October is Coming!

Yesterday, in the spirit of the coming season, I spent a little bit of time in the kitchen cooking up some yummy, tasty treats.  Autumn, more than most seasons, makes me want to partake of the baked goodies (could it be all that pumpkin & spice?), however I’ve been doing some health experiments of late that make it harder to simply pop to the store, or Starbucks, and grab a something…so the only recourse is I have to make it myself (what a loss… ). Happily I’ve found lots of inspiration from books, and blogs that give me hope for health and yummy noms combined, and in that way I came upon these little gems:  Lemon Almond Biscotti.

Biscotti

You can click here to find the yummy Lemon Almond Biscotti Recipe from Elana’s Pantry.  I’ve made about four of her recipes so far, three from her book, and then this one from her blog–all were greatly successful and delicious.  Armed with a box of these, and my orange sweater, I feel more than ready for October. Bring it on.

Cheers,
