Some nights require an escape to the country. The chaos of creation and calamity gets too thick and the need of calm so strong…particularly for those of us who have always favored quiet.
And to the country I drive. Sometimes it’s simply quiet, but last night it was downright stunning.
To the west the sun was just touching the horizon, which took my breath away. But to the east the moon was appearing above the vast blue mountains and the valley and that outright stole my breath from my lungs in a long and lingering awestruck moment.
And whatever else had been or was being in the world no longer mattered.
Because in one moment, all is well.
All is stillness, and all is well.
