Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Yesterday, as I was wandering about some blogs I like to read, I ran across this fantastic video.

It just made me smile a lot.  Stupidly smile.  Smile the kind of smile that just keeps smiling.

You know the kind of fully-engaged-face, cheesy smile, I’m talking about.

This is my favorite Dr. Seuss of all time.

“No! That’s not for you! Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying. You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing. With banner flip-flapping, once more you’ll ride high! Ready for anything under the sky. Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!”

I know a lot about the waiting place, the wandering about place, the being alone.  The book really does sum up much of the spectrum of human journey and experience.

So first, inspired by the YouTube above, I made my way to this site . Because the music made me really happy too.

And then I remembered, I have a box downstairs.  And in the box there is a mug (and a bunch of other things I’d almost forgotten about–like COFFEE from Lakota! WEE! I love caffeinated surprises!) *ahem* Anyway…the mug.

I actually got it for a friend, but because I don’t see them very often–I put it in a box and it’s been wrapped away for over a year now.  Thus I made a decision: it’s time for this mug’s story to start.  I’m going to use it and then when I see them (if I see them) I’ll pass it on to go new places with them.  I think that’s the kind of life that this kind of mug is supposed to live.

And so, I leave you with this thought:

“You’re off to great places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So… Get on your way.”

Cheers,
